About
Daniel Gantner, born in 2002, is a multi-disciplinary artist from the greater Chicago area. Inspired by the interconnectedness of all art forms, he strives to find balance and connection between each of his practices - photography, moving image, design, and music production.
Utilizing digital and film cameras, Gantner strives to capture the emotion and beauty of living in this world through documenting architecture, live music, and natural landscapes. Gantner’s work in moving image is highly interested in exploring the use of both archival and newly recorded footage, seeking to bridge the gap between visions and images created by past artists with his own.
Much like his work in moving images, Gantner’s music production heavily utilizes sampling and interpolation of previously recorded music in tandem with his own ideas to make new and creatively unique pieces of music. His work in design is dedicated to bringing attention to important social and environmental issues, as well as personal explorations of his experiences.
Gantner also highly values collaboration, as he believes that when artists come together, the resulting work is more than just the sum of its parts and is a testament to the power of human connection. In 2024, Gantner has been experimenting with new mediums like sculpture and 3D digital media, seeking to expand the scope of his artistic skills and philosophy as he works toward becoming a licensed art teacher in the state of Illinois.
